Summit Overview

New Energy World Network’s Envirotech & Clean Energy Investor Summit was once again oversubscribed, with attendance capped at 500 delegates, making it the largest investor-focused cleantech and renewable energy event in Europe.

The day saw a fantastic selection of speakers and panellists share their insight and opinions on the sector and discuss the prospects for the clean energy industry in 2011 and beyond.

Attendees ran the gamut of participants in the green sector, from innovative technology start-ups to established energy companies, project developers and large international corporations. The financial sector was also well-represented, with private equity and venture capital firms, banks, pension funds, project financiers and asset managers all coming together to address the pressing issues facing the growth of the low carbon economy.

Panels tackled the challenges and opportunities facing the sector, spanning the difficulties of securing growth capital, to the lending appetite of banks for large-scale renewables projects and the prospects within technology sectors from Solar to Green Transport, Bioenergy and Wind.

In 2011, New Energy World Network will host more events aimed at bringing together the leading organisations and individuals in the clean energy investor community for debate, discussion and networking.

This will kick off with the Clean Energy LP-GP Forum Europe on 9 February and the Clean Energy LP-GP Forum US in New York on 22 March. We will also host the second Wind Energy Finance Forum 2011, European Marine Energy Forum 2011 and Solar Energy Forum 2011, the dates of which will be announced in due course.
